Enjoying The Wildlife Around Your Homes

You will already know from the various leaflets the work the Trust has already done, and the ongoing work to create a wildlife haven on Elsea Park Meadows.

The ponds, hedgerows, and flower rich hay-meadow, have all been developed both to help conserve the tradition wildlife and to enable Trust Members and their visitors to enjoy the beauty of the wildflowers, butterflies, dragonflies and many birds which have already colonised the area.

However, to give these habitats a fighting chance, and to experience the wildlife at its very best, only the mown paths should be used

Many residents naturally use these areas to excise their dogs, and we ask dog owners to follow a few simple rules:

  • To avoid damage to the ecology and for the health & Safety of other residents, please bag all excrement and either take it home or place it in the bin provided
  • It is necessary to request that dogs be kept on a lead at the following times:

o    If you are crossing the meadow when cattle are grazing

o    Whenever ground birds are nesting

Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions concerning the management of the wildlife, then please contact me.
